About Safe Kids Maine

Safe Kids Maine provides outreach and safety information to the public. The mission of Safe Kids Maine is the same as Safe Kids Worldwide (SKWW): to prevent unintentional childhood injury, a leading killer of children age 14 and under.

SKWW provides funding, technical, legal and marketing support to Safe Kids Coalitions worldwide. Safe Kids Maine is governed by representatives from safety organizations, the medical community, education, human services, law enforcement, and safety specialists.

Tall Pine Safety Resource Center is the lead agency for Safe Kids Maine and helps with fundraising, financial oversight, program administration and office space.  Tall Pine Safety Resource Center is named after Bob Bull, the original founder of Safe Kids Maine in the mid-1980s.  Bob's Native American name was 'Tall Pine' and is what school children affectionately referred to him as during his educational visits to classrooms.  Tribute to Bob Bull

Funding

Funding to support program initiatives is provided by Safe Kids Worldwide, state and federal agencies, corporate sponsors and private sources. The Tall Pine Safety Resource Center is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt nonprofit organization.
