Safe Kids Maine Classes
Safe Kids Maine conducts a variety of classes including Child Passenger Safety Technician Certification Classes and Child Passenger Safety Technical Update Classes. Learn more about becoming a CPS Technician at www.cpsboard.org
This course was designed to help certified CPS technicians and technicians-instructors stay up-to-date in the ever changing CPS environment and to earn valuable CEUs to use towards recertification. Participants gain a clear understanding of difficult or often-misunderstood CPS topics, obtain updated or advanced information about changing CPS technology and to learn help correct the errors and misinformation commonly witnessed in the field.
The 8-hour National CPS Training Certification Renewal Course is a way for once-certified individuals to become certified again. In order to be eligible for this course, the participant must have a CPS profile with a certification status of EXPIRED. There is no limit for how long ago their certification expired.
All students MUST be current in their CPS knowledge and skills and come ready to test! This is NOT an update/refresher class. This course is meant for expired CPS Technicians who have maintained their child passenger safety knowledge and their hands-on skills. It is expected that participants attempting to renew their certifications have stayed involved in CPS programs and activities, have kept up with changes in the field by reading technical updates, attending other CPS classes, and working with non-expired technicians to keep their installation skills current, but who - for one reason or another - allowed their certifications to expire.
